Radisson Hotel Group has announced plans to open its first Radisson Collection property in Madrid, scheduled for 2027. The 154-room hotel will occupy a heritage-protected classical building located at Alcalá 21, in the heart of the city’s Canalejas area.
This historic site, known as the Generali building, will undergo a transformation into a mixed-use complex. The ground floor will host premium retail outlets, while the upper ten floors will be dedicated to the hotel. The property will feature a signature restaurant and bar on the first floor, a rooftop restaurant and bar on the 13th floor, as well as a spa and fitness center, offering guests a blend of luxury and relaxation.
Since its debut in 2018, the Radisson Collection brand has quickly expanded, with around 65 properties worldwide. Recent openings in Europe include the Radisson Collection Hotel in Rome and the Radisson Collection Hotel in Milan. More properties are planned for 2025 in destinations such as Budapest, Casablanca, Brussels, and Lake Como, continuing the brand’s growth in key international locations.
The new Madrid hotel will strengthen Radisson Hotel Group’s presence in Spain, where it already operates eight properties. This new flagship project is set to enhance the group’s profile in one of Europe’s most dynamic cities, attracting both international and local travelers seeking a blend of heritage, luxury, and modern amenities. With its prime location and luxurious offerings, the hotel is expected to become a prominent destination for visitors to Madrid.
